This is a senior middle leadership post that involves overseeing all disciplines within DT (e.g., Graphics, Resistant Materials, Food Technology) and ensuring outstanding practical and academic results at all key stages. The post will be compensated with a senior Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR 1b) or potentially an L-Scale point, reflecting the significant responsibility for the curriculum, departmental budget, specialist workshop management, and the overall performance of the DT provision. You will manage technical resources and ensure consistency and excellence in teaching quality across all disciplines. We Are Looking For: • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) . • A proven track record of excellent DT teaching with essential experience teaching at Key Stage 5 (A-Level or Vocational) . • Significant leadership experience (e.g., Second in Department, Subject Coordinator, or existing Head of Department). • Strong practical skills and the ability to inspire high academic achievement and foster future design and engineering careers. • The strategic vision to develop and enrich the curriculum, including coordinating extracurricular projects and links with industry. Salary and Benefits • Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Inner London Teachers (currently £40,317 - £62,496 for 2025/2026). • Senior TLR Payment: A TLR 1b is typical for this role, ranging from £12,943 to £17,216 (for 2025/2026). Alternatively, the role may be placed on the Leadership Pay Spine (L-Scale) depending on the school's structure. • Excellent, structured professional development and career progression pathways in a high-achieving environment.
