As the Deputy Headteacher (and part of the Senior Leadership Team) you will:
Ensure there is a commitment to safeguarding and equality and diversity.
Uphold high and ambitious expectations for all and promote an inclusive culture that enables all students to access the curriculum.
Ensure that the school effectively and efficiently operates within the required regulatory frameworks and meets all statutory duties
Oversee and line manage members of staff as required.
Oversee the daily operations of the school to ensure it is well-managed, organised, and aligned with strategic goals.
Ensure the schools polices, practices, and procedures are fully understood by all staff to reduce risk and ensure consistency of practice as part of the SLT Team.
Drive continuous improvement through a robust school development plan, quality assurance procedures, including supervision, and appraisal.
Identify barriers to school effectiveness and develop strategies for school improvement that are realistic, timely, and suited to the school’s context.
Promote a culture of collaboration across the school and other Bright Futures schools.
Act as a designated safeguarding lead within the school in collaboration with the Headteacher.

Requirements
Qualifications and experience
Qualified teacher status or equivalent
Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of successful leadership and management experience in a school
Experience of Autism/LD is desirable

The Deputy Headteacher salary will be based on the scale: £51,000 - £58,000 plus a Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

We are seeking an exceptional Designated Safeguarding Lead and Attendance Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring that every child is safe, supported and able to thrive.
The role is based across both the Withington and Longsight sites and will provide operational leadership for safeguarding, child protection, attendance, online safety and pupil welfare.
About the Candidate
As our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will lead day-to-day safeguarding practice, manage complex safeguarding and attendance cases, coordinate multi-agency interventions and ensure statutory safeguarding requirements are implemented consistently across the school.
You will work closely with children, families, staff and partner agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable pupils.

• Has substantial safeguarding experience within education, social care or a related SEMH setting.

Pastoral Manager - Secondary School, Bury
Location: Bury
Start Date: ASAP (continuing on a long-term basis from September)
Pay: £120-£160 per day (dependent on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Bury for an experienced Pastoral Manager to join their dedicated pastoral team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced education professional to make a real difference to the lives of young people.
This is a full-time position with an immediate start , offering the chance to join a well-established pastoral and safeguarding team. The successful candidate will begin ASAP and continue in the role on a long-term basis from September , providing consistency and ongoing support for students throughout the new academic year.
About the Role
As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and safeguarding across the school. You will work closely with students, families, teaching staff and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
•
Providing pastoral support to students across a designated year group or key stage.
•
Managing behaviour and attendance concerns, implementing appropriate interventions where required.
•
Working closely with safeguarding, SEND and senior leadership teams to support vulnerable students.
•
Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
•
Supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
•
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding and pastoral meetings.
•
Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive school environment.
Person Specification
Please note: Only applicants with previous experience working within schools and education will be considered.
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working within a Pastoral Team, Safeguarding Team or SEND Team in a secondary school . Applications from candidates without relevant secondary school experience will not be considered.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a role such as:

Head of Year
•
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
•
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
•
Pastoral Manager
•
Behaviour Manager
•
Inclusion Manager
•
Or a similar pastoral leadership position within a secondary school
You should have:
•
A thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
•
Experience supporting young people with behavioural, emotional or additional needs.
•
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
•
The ability to remain calm, resilient and professional in challenging situations.
•
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
