Key Responsibilities: • Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school. • Ensure the effective identification, assessment, and support of students with SEND. • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create individualised learning plans. • Oversee the implementation of EHCPs, ensuring students receive the appropriate support. • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND best practices and inclusive teaching strategies. • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing interventions where necessary. • Support the whole-school leadership team in driving improvement in SEND provision. • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to ensure holistic student support. • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students. Qualifications and Experience: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it. • Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential. • A strong understanding of SEND legislation, EHCPs, and best practice interventions. • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
