Working closely with teaching assistants and colleagues, you will ensure all pupils receive tailored support to meet their individual needs. Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum • Prepare pupils for SATs and transition to secondary school • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners • Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, KS2 colleagues, and senior leaders • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about pupil progress • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills • Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable • Have a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing • Work collaboratively as part of a professional team The school is located in Colchester, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
