Attendance Officer

A high-performing and well-structured secondary school in Chelsea is seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to improving pupil outcomes through effective attendance monitoring and early intervention. Attendance is a key priority within the school, and the successful candidate will play a central role in supporting safeguarding, parental engagement, and whole-school improvement. The Role • Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality across the school • Identifying patterns of absence and implementing early intervention strategies • Liaising with parents and carers regarding attendance concerns • Maintaining accurate attendance data using the school MIS system • Producing attendance reports for senior leadership and governors • Supporting safeguarding procedures linked to attendance • Working closely with Heads of Year and pastoral leaders • Coordinating meetings and documentation related to persistent absence The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Previous experience in a school attendance or administrative role • Strong knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding requirements • Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar systems • Excellent organisational and communication skills • The ability to manage sensitive situations professionally • A proactive and solutions-focused approach This secondary school in Chelsea is recognised for its strong academic standards, structured systems, and supportive leadership.
