Caretaker

Our client is seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive Caretaker to join a warm and close-knit primary school in Taunton. This is a vital on-site role, ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities • Day-to-day maintenance and care of the school buildings and grounds • Opening and closing the school site as required • Carrying out basic repairs, DIY, and general upkeep • Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed across the site • Monitoring the security of the premises and responding to issues promptly • Supporting school events and occasional lettings when required The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Assistant, or Facilities role • Practical maintenance and DIY skills • Good working knowledge of health & safety procedures • A reliable, flexible, and hands-on approach • The right to work in the UK • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) School Information This small and welcoming primary school in Taunton is well regarded within the local community and known for its nurturing ethos and strong relationships between staff, pupils, and families.
