About the role

A well-established SEN specialist provision in Southwark, South London, seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology teacher to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of young people with SEN within a supportive and inclusive environment. About the Role: • You will plan, deliver and assess engaging and informative Food Technology lessons tailored to the National Curriculum and the specific needs of our students across all key stages. • You will create a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters a love of food, practical cooking skills, and an understanding of nutrition in a way that is accessible to all learners. • You will develop students’ practical skills in the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation, with a focus on building confidence and independence. • You will collaborate with other professionals within the provision to ensure a holistic approach to student development. • You will play a key role in maintaining a well-equipped and safe food technology learning environment. The Ideal Candidate: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Food Technology or a relevant subject. • A strong passion for food and a demonstrably engaging teaching style, with experience in adapting lessons for students with SEN. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills with a strong focus on positive behaviour management. • The ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to a diverse range of needs. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • Experience working with students with SEN (desirable).
