With a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing, modern teaching facilities, and an inclusive learning environment, this is an excellent opportunity for both experienced English Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their careers within a supportive and ambitious setting The Role As an English Teacher, you will: - Deliver engaging and high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where applicable. - Plan and prepare creative lessons that challenge and motivate students of all abilities. - Foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. - Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support achievement. - Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional educational needs. - Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement within the classroom. - Support students in preparing for GCSE examinations and achieving their academic goals. - Contribute to departmental initiatives, curriculum development, and extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, creative writing groups, or school productions. - Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will possess: - A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent). - Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting. - Strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature. - A passion for literacy and the ability to inspire students to engage with a wide range of texts and genres. - Excellent classroom management and organisational skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. - The ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. - A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with a commitment to meeting individual student needs. - An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
