Role Responsibilities As a Food Technician, your responsibilities will include: • Preparing ingredients, equipment, and workstations for practical food lessons. • Supporting teachers and students during lessons, providing guidance on safe and correct use of equipment. • Maintaining and organising food preparation areas, equipment, and resources to ensure efficiency and safety. • Ensuring compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations in all food preparation areas. • Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing storage to maintain continuity of lessons. • Assisting with practical demonstrations, departmental projects, and food-related events. • Ensuring all appliances, utensils, and equipment are clean, safe, and in working order. Candidate Requirements • Previous experience in food preparation or as a Food Technician, ideally in an educational setting. • Knowledge of food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations. • Practical skills, attention to detail, and organisational ability. • Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Good communication skills to support staff and students effectively.
