About the Role The successful candidate will teach Food Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons that inspire students to develop creativity, confidence, and a strong understanding of food science and nutrition. Students study a varied curriculum covering food preparation, nutrition, health and wellbeing, food science, ingredients, sustainability, and product development. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Food Preparation and Nutrition qualifications while developing their practical skills, independence, and understanding of the wider food industry. You will also contribute to the wider department through practical workshops, cooking clubs, competitions, community projects, and enrichment activities that encourage students to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities • Teach Food Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5 • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Food Preparation and Nutrition examinations • Develop students’ practical skills, creativity, and confidence • Ensure safe and effective use of specialist equipment and resources • Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development • Support food-related clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities The School Environment This Academy School in Birmingham is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
