A well-regarded secondary school in Brentwood is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join their team from September 2025. This contract role is open to both part-time and full-time candidates and offers a fantastic opportunity to inspire students through hands-on, skills-based learning. You’ll join a vibrant DT department and play a key role in helping students understand the importance of nutrition, food safety, and cooking for life. The school provides modern facilities, a supportive leadership team, and a collaborative teaching environment where your ideas and passion can thrive. Whether you're an experienced teacher or confident early in your career, this is a chance to make a genuine impact in an inclusive and engaging classroom. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4. • Teach practical cooking skills alongside theoretical knowledge of food and nutrition. • Promote food safety, hygiene, and healthy living. • Monitor and assess student progress, tailoring lessons to meet a range of needs. • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and enrichment activities. • Create a safe, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment. • Collaborate with staff and contribute to wider school life and events. Qualifications and Experience: • QTS and a degree in Food Technology or a related subject (essential). • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (preferred). • Strong classroom management and communication skills. • A practical, hands-on approach to teaching and learning. • Knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and dietary requirements. • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being. • Willingness to support extra-curricular clubs and DT-related projects.
