History Teacher

A well-respected and inclusive 11–18 secondary school in Mansfield is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of History to join its established Humanities faculty. The Role You will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with the opportunity to teach KS5 for candidates with appropriate experience. The curriculum is carefully sequenced to build students’ understanding of chronology, causation, significance and interpretation. At Key Stage 3, lessons focus on developing strong foundational knowledge alongside key historical skills such as source analysis, extended writing and structured debate. Students are encouraged to think critically about the past and make connections between historical periods and the modern world. At GCSE, teaching balances deep subject knowledge with clear exam preparation. The department places strong emphasis on writing skills, confident use of evidence and exam technique, supported by regular assessment and targeted intervention. You will be encouraged to contribute your own subject interests and expertise while working within a shared curriculum framework that supports consistency and reduces unnecessary workload.
