The school is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated History Teacher to join its dynamic Humanities department from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact by delivering engaging and thought-provoking History lessons. The role is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers, with full support and mentoring provided throughout the induction year. In this role, you will deliver high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum. You will plan, prepare, and assess students’ work in accordance with department and school policies, while creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for the subject. You will monitor and support students’ academic progress and personal development, using data effectively to track achievement and implement appropriate interventions. Working closely with colleagues across the Humanities department and the wider school, you will help maintain consistency and high standards. You will also uphold clear behaviour expectations, participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities, engage with parents and carers, and contribute to extracurricular activities such as clubs, trips, or themed events. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status, or be working towards it as an Early Career Teacher, and will have a degree in History or a related subject. You will bring a genuine passion for History and a commitment to engaging students in meaningful historical enquiry. Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and a reflective approach to professional development are essential. You should also be a team player who is keen to contribute to the wider school community.
