SEN Learning Support Assistant Job Role: SEN Learning Support Assistant Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £85.50 - £110 per day Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference? Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead from September 2026. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity to support pupils in Key Stage 1 with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Cognition and Learning, and Communication and Interaction. If you are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you. About the Role As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
Support pupils with SEMH, Cognition and Learning, and Communication and Interaction needs, helping them to access the curriculum and engage confidently in school life.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs and learning styles.
Promote independence, confidence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes.
