Maths Teacher - SEMH School | Islington | September 2026 Start Location: Islington, North London Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Permanent Opportunity Available) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Remedy Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Islington for an enthusiastic and resilient Maths Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This specialist secondary school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and provides a creative, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally. With a strong emphasis on the performing arts, the school offers an engaging curriculum designed to build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Maths Teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. The Role As a Maths Teacher, you will: • Deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the individual learning needs of students with SEMH needs. • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. • Use creative teaching strategies to encourage participation and build confidence. • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adapting teaching where required. • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists, and senior leaders to support student development. • Build positive relationships that promote engagement, resilience, and academic success. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. • Experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting. • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, SEND, or other additional needs is desirable. • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships. • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills. • A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching. • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
