At Peckham , we’re seeking a passionate Nursery Room Leader or Third in Charge to support our team in delivering exceptional care and education. To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification along with previous experience in a Nursery Practitioner role.

Pay: £34,652 - £35,068 per annum based on experience ( 40 hours per week ).
Working Hours: 40 hours over 5 days - Monday to Friday
Location: Sunhill Day Nursery Peckham, Unit A&B Robert Court, Sternhall Lane, Peckham Rye, London, SE15 4NT
What being a Room Leader involves
As a Room Leader, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base room responsibilities. You will:
• Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
• Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
• Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
• Monitor and guide the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
• Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child.
About our Nursery
Our Peckham Nursery is on Sternhall Lane, directly off Peckham High Street only 5 minutes from the train station, it is easily accessible by foot, rail, or car. We are fortunate to have a large nursery for our children with plenty of space to explore inside, and we regularly go to a nearby park to explore the woodland and let off steam. At The Old Station Nursery Peckham, we are a fun and happy team here at our nursery in Peckham, with many long-serving staff members and strong connections with our families and the local community.
