About the role
PE Teacher Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £140 – £250 per day Inspire, motivate and make a difference with GSL Education. GSL Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Qualified PE Teachers to work across a variety of secondary schools in York from September 2026. Whether you're looking for day-to-day supply, short-term placements or long-term opportunities, we have flexible roles to suit your availability and career goals. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people through physical education, promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork and confidence while delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 where applicable). As a PE Teacher, you will: Deliver high-quality PE lessons across a range of secondary schools.
Teach practical and theory-based Physical Education in line with the national curriculum.
Motivate and engage students of all abilities to achieve their potential.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement.
Adapt quickly to different school environments while building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
As the Ideal PE Teacher, you should have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching PE within UK secondary schools.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
A flexible, enthusiastic and professional approach.
A genuine passion for promoting sport, health and physical wellbeing.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
