About the role

Affinity Partnerships are seeking a passionate and resilient QTS PE Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) secondary school from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to achieve their potential. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for secondary-aged students who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional and mental health needs. Through engaging PE lessons and enrichment activities, you will play a key role in promoting confidence, teamwork, resilience and wellbeing. The Role As the school's PE Teacher, you will: • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons to secondary-aged students. • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEMH and additional learning needs. • Foster positive relationships that encourage participation and personal development. • Support students in developing confidence, emotional regulation and social skills through physical activity. • Plan, assess and monitor progress in line with curriculum requirements. • Contribute to extracurricular sports activities and enrichment programmes where appropriate. • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, therapists and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). • Has experience teaching PE at secondary level. • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills. • Has a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs. • Is patient, adaptable and resilient in challenging situations. • Can create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment. • Previous experience within an SEMH, SEND, PRU or alternative provision setting is desirable but not essential. Benefits of working with Affinity Partnerships: • You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience. • Dedicated consultant allocated to support you with any questions and concerns. • Support in writing CVs and job applications. • £200 for any successful referral of Teachers and £100 for Teaching Assistants. • You will receive free, up to date Safeguarding training. • Trainings workshops and CPD courses to provide professional development. • The option of working under a PAYE or Umbrella pay scheme. Safeguarding This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment.
