The Opportunity A high-performing secondary academy in Derby is seeking an inspiring Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities faculty from January 2026. This full-time, permanent post offers the opportunity to teach RE across Key Stages 3 to 5, within a dynamic and aspirational school community committed to academic excellence and character education. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a teacher who: • Holds QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification • Has strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Ethics • Can plan and deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons that encourage reflection and discussion • Uses effective assessment and feedback to support student progress • Works collaboratively as part of a team and contributes to wider school life Experience leading enrichment activities such as debates, philosophy clubs or community projects would be an advantage. There will also be opportunities to lead enrichment such as discussion forums, social action projects and interfaith initiatives, helping students apply their learning beyond the classroom and engage with contemporary moral issues.
