Safeguarding Lead – Outstanding Secondary School – Kensington (London) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale** School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Kensington is renowned for its exceptional pastoral care, high academic outcomes, and deeply embedded safeguarding culture. The school places student wellbeing at the core of its ethos, with a highly effective support team and strong multi-agency partnerships. Staff value the excellent leadership, clear safeguarding systems, and a culture where every child is known and supported. Role Information The school is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or experienced Deputy DSL ready to step up. Key Responsibilities: • Act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead • Lead safeguarding procedures in line with KCSIE and statutory guidance • Manage referrals to social care, CAMHS, police, and external agencies • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings (CP, CIN, TAC, MASH) • Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS/MyConcern • Train staff on safeguarding, updates, and policy changes • Oversee early help assessments and intervention plans • Work closely with pastoral, SEN, behaviour and attendance teams • Ensure robust whole-school safeguarding culture and compliance • Provide clear guidance and emotional resilience when supporting students This is a pivotal leadership role requiring exceptional judgement and professionalism. Requirements • Experience as DSL or Deputy DSL in a school • Advanced safeguarding training (Level 3 minimum) • Excellent understanding of KCSIE, statutory processes & multi-agency work • Strong record-keeping and decision-making skills • Ability to lead staff training and oversee whole-school systems • Calm, resilient, confidential, and compassionate approach Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
