Safeguarding Lead – Outstanding Secondary School – Kensington (London)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Role Information
The school is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or experienced Deputy DSL ready to step up.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead
• Lead safeguarding procedures in line with KCSIE and statutory guidance
• Manage referrals to social care, CAMHS, police, and external agencies
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings (CP, CIN, TAC, MASH)
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records using CPOMS/MyConcern
• Train staff on safeguarding, updates, and policy changes
• Oversee early help assessments and intervention plans
• Work closely with pastoral, SEN, behaviour and attendance teams
• Ensure robust whole-school safeguarding culture and compliance
• Provide clear guidance and emotional resilience when supporting students
This is a pivotal leadership role requiring exceptional judgement and professionalism.
Requirements
• Experience as DSL or Deputy DSL in a school
• Advanced safeguarding training (Level 3 minimum)
• Excellent understanding of KCSIE, statutory processes & multi-agency work
• Strong record-keeping and decision-making skills
• Ability to lead staff training and oversee whole-school systems
• Calm, resilient, confidential, and compassionate approach
