Science Teaching Role in a Secondary School A secondary school in Southport is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that values academic achievement, practical learning, and strong outcomes in STEM education.
The Science department delivers a broad curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with strong emphasis on practical investigation and scientific reasoning.
About the Role You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding, analytical thinking, and investigative skills.
The role includes both theoretical teaching and practical laboratory work, helping students build confidence in experimentation and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in developing strong subject knowledge and exam technique.
You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and assessment.
Key Responsibilities • Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
• Deliver lessons covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
• Assess student work and provide detailed feedback
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Maintain safe laboratory environments
• Contribute to departmental planning and STEM enrichment activities

Desirable
• Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
• Experience teaching KS5 Science
• Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
