Location: Bedfordshire Salary: M1-M6 (£31,650 - £43,607 per annum) Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Start Date: September 2026 About the Role An ambitious and supportive secondary school is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Science to join its successful department on a full-time fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced classroom practitioner to inspire young people and deliver high-quality Science education. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers and experienced Science teachers. Candidates with a specialism in Physics or Chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply; however, this is preferred and not an essential requirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, promoting excellent progress and fostering a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities * Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages. * Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. * Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress. * Promote high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement. * Support pupils academic, social and emotional development. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers. * Contribute to the wider life of the school. The Ideal Candidate * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). * Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills. * Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Science. * Be committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for all learners. * Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. * Be enthusiastic and committed to professional development.
