Academics is recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Secondary Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Bedford . This long-term opportunity is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a lasting impact in a specialist education setting. The school supports secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and pupils who may display traits of challenging behaviour. Class sizes are small, allowing staff to provide personalised learning and meaningful support to every learner. The Role As an SEN Secondary Teacher , you will: • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs. • Create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment. • Support pupils to achieve both academically and personally. • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider leadership team. • Develop strong relationships with pupils, parents and professionals to ensure the best outcomes. The Ideal Candidate • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. • Experience working with pupils with SEN, either in specialist or mainstream settings. • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills. • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach. • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
