We're looking for compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in schools across Bath and North East Somerset. If you've worked in education, youth work, residential care, mental health services, sports coaching or similar support roles, your experience could be exactly what these pupils need. What you'll be doing • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups • Building positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and engaged • Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage emotional regulation and resilience • Helping pupils access learning while celebrating every achievement, big or small • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to create a supportive learning environment We're looking for someone who • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour, or transferable experience from care, youth work or similar settings • Remains calm, patient and positive under pressure • Builds strong relationships through empathy, consistency and understanding • Has a genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one Why work with Protocol Education? • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies • FREE access to our online CPD Academy • Dedicated support from your local consultant • Opportunities across mainstream, specialist and alternative provision settings • A simple registration process and local opportunities to suit your availability • Refer a friend and earn rewards Already Thrive trained?
