SEMH Teaching Assistant

Be the reason a child believes in themselves again. We're working with specialist schools in South Shields looking for resilient and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistants to start this September. You'll support pupils aged 11-16 who benefit from smaller class sizes, structured routines and positive relationships. Your role will involve helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage in learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. Working Pattern • Full-time • September start • Monday-Friday • 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:30pm • Term-time only Your role • Supporting learning and behaviour • Delivering personalised interventions • Encouraging attendance and engagement • Supporting social and emotional development • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs • Promoting independence and confidence Ideal candidate • Patient and resilient • Strong behaviour management skills • Passionate about SEND • Excellent communication skills All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
