SEMH Teaching Assistant - Wandsworth Location: Wandsworth Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full Time Simply Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming and supportive school in Wandsworth. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed both in and out of the classroom. About the Role: • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs • Help pupils manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop positive behaviour strategies • Support academic learning in line with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment What We're Looking For: • Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable) • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children • Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach) is an advantage but not essential What We Offer: • Supportive and experienced school staff • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities • Competitive pay and dedicated recruiter support • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people To Apply: Please send your CV and a short covering letter outlining your experience and interest in working with children with SEMH needs.
