Responsibilities • Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the individual learning needs of students with special educational needs.
• Assess, monitor, and document student progress to inform instructional strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals to support inclusive education.
• Create and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and student engagement.
• Liaise with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and provide guidance on supporting learning at home.
• Implement behavior management strategies that promote social, emotional, and academic development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and educational legislation related to SEN.
Requirements
• Qualified teacher status with experience in special educational needs teaching.
• Strong knowledge of SEN frameworks, including the SEND Code of Practice and individual education plans (IEPs).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Experience in managing behavior and implementing positive reinforcement strategies in the classroom.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs.
• Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning and track student progress.
