About the Role
Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced specialist school in Edgware. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and associated complex needs. You will work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of all learners.
Teach and support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, ensuring learning is aligned with EHCP outcomes.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, carers, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and effective communication strategies.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to maximise pupil engagement and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
Experience teaching children or young people with Special Educational Needs in either a mainstream or specialist setting.
A strong understanding of EHCPs, differentiated teaching strategies, and inclusive classroom practice.
Excellent communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.
A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to teaching.
A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
