SEN Teacher Job Title: SEN Teacher Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (M1–UPS3) Contract: Full-time Start Date: September 2026 Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Supply Desk is currently seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Hemel Hempstead from September 2026. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for a teacher with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning needs. About the Role As an SEN Teacher, you will: • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs. • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil can thrive. • Adapt teaching methods and learning resources to support a range of learning abilities and communication needs. • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback and celebrating achievements. • Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development, encouraging confidence, independence and resilience. • Contribute to the wider life of the school and work closely with colleagues to promote high-quality teaching and learning. Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable; experienced unqualified teachers will also be considered. • Experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional learning needs is highly desirable. • A sound understanding of effective SEND teaching strategies. • The ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities. • A positive, patient and resilient approach. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. • A commitment to continuous professional development. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
