Role: SEN Secondary Teacher Location: Brighton and Hove Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2026 Daily Rate: £174.71 – £240.71 (dependent on experience) Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive specialist provision in Brighton and Hove, who are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Secondary Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes within a structured and nurturing environment. About the Role As an SEN Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND. You will work closely with support staff, SENCOs, therapists, and wider professionals to create a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment where pupils can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for secondary-aged pupils with SEND Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, SEMH, MLD, and communication difficulties Develop and adapt learning activities in line with EHCP targets and individual support plans Create a calm, structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress effectively Use positive behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals Promote pupil independence, confidence, communication, and social development Candidate Profile Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching within a secondary school or specialist SEND provision Strong understanding of SEND, differentiation, and inclusive classroom practice Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching and behaviour support Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their potential Requirements UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience working with pupils with SEND within a school or specialist provision Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Two professional teaching references Eligibility to work in the UK Why Register With Us?
