Unqualified SEN Teacher – SEN School – Southend| ASAP or September Start | Full-Time or Part Time Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and looking to take the next step in your education career? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified SEN Teacher to join a welcoming SEN school in Southend. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, HLTAs, Cover Supervisors, Instructors, Learning Mentors, and graduates who are ready to lead learning and make a genuine difference to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), and other complex learning needs. The Role As an Unqualified SEN Teacher , you will: • Plan and deliver engaging lessons with the support of the wider teaching team • Adapt learning to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils with SEND • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment • Support pupils in developing their academic, social, emotional, and life skills • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, Therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team • Monitor pupil progress and contribute towards EHCP targets and individual learning outcomes • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning What We're Looking For • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, or similar • Excellent communication and classroom management skills • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND • Graduates and aspiring teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience are encouraged to apply Pay & Benefits • £100–£250 per day (depending on experience) • ASAP or September start • Full-time, long-term opportunity with potential for a permanent position • Excellent experience for those looking to progress into qualified teaching • Ongoing training and professional development within a supportive SEN environment Why Work with GSL Education?
