About the role
SEN Teacher - Autism Pathway Remedy Education are looking for a strong and experienced SEN Teacher to support a lively Autism pathway class. This role is working with a small class of 8 boys across Year 3 to Year 8. The pupils are non-verbal and require a teacher who is confident with autism, sensory regulation, routines and highly structured learning. The class has strong support in place, including 2 HLTAs and 3 Teaching Assistants. The school are looking to trial suitable teachers as soon as possible, so this is a great opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is ready to make an immediate impact. Pathway: Autism Pathway
Class: 8 boys, Year 3 to Year 8
Needs: Autism, non-verbal, sensory regulation
Support: 2 HLTAs and 3 Teaching Assistants in class
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £200-£250 per day
Trial: ASAP The Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will: * Plan and deliver structured lessons tailored to pupils with autism
* Support non-verbal pupils using appropriate communication strategies
* Create clear routines to help pupils feel safe, settled and engaged
* Support sensory regulation throughout the school day
* Work closely with HLTAs and Teaching Assistants to provide consistent support
* Adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs and EHCP targets
* Use a calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour and engagement
* Help create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Qualified Teacher Status or strong SEN teaching experience
* Experience supporting pupils with autism is essential
* Confidence working with non-verbal pupils
* Strong understanding of sensory regulation and structured routines
* Experience leading a supported classroom team
* A calm, resilient and nurturing approach
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
