SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant Location: Birmingham (B12) Salary: £90 – £105 per day (Depending on experience) Contract: Full-time | Temp to Perm for the right candidate Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Birmingham (B12) . This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting students with challenging behaviour and complex needs. About the Role You will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions, engage in learning and build positive relationships. Key Responsibilities • Support students displaying challenging behaviour • Implement behaviour management strategies • Assist with Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) • Promote emotional regulation and positive engagement • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff Requirements • Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour • Strong behaviour management skills • Calm, resilient and empathetic approach • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Tom Harper – GSL Education T: M: ✉
