SEN Teaching Assistant – Radlett
Location: Radlett
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Contract: Full-time
Pay: £85–£115 per day (Dependent on experience)
Supply Desk is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Radlett . This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support that enables every child to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence and develop socially and emotionally within a positive and supportive school environment. Whether working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, you will make a real difference to the educational journey of children with additional needs.
Key Duties:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum through differentiated learning activities and tailored interventions.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and the development of social and communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and feedback to support individual learning plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to ensure consistent support.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement within the classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (desirable).
• Knowledge of supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence in promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Experience working within a primary or secondary school setting is desirable.
