Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire Start Date: September Contract Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Hours: Monday–Friday, term time only About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Rugeley. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for someone passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential. In this role, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of learning, developmental, and behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a positive, nurturing, and structured environment where every child can succeed. Key Responsibilities • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning delays. • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities. • Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and confidence. • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners. • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals. About You We would love to hear from you if you are: • Experienced working with children with SEN in a school or care setting. • Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, positive relationships. • Able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual learners. • Confident in supporting behaviour, communication, and emotional needs. • Reliable, flexible, and committed to full-time working hours. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one). The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
