SEND Teaching Assistant Manchester Local Authority Special Schools | September 2026 Support. Encourage. Inspire. Empowering Learning is recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work within Manchester Local Authority Special Schools from September 2026. We work closely with a number of highly regarded specialist schools supporting pupils aged 3-19 with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), SEMH and complex additional needs. Whether you're an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant or looking to begin a rewarding career in specialist education, we'd love to hear from you. The Role Working alongside experienced teachers and specialist professionals, you'll provide personalised support to help pupils achieve both academically and socially. Responsibilities may include: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting with personalised learning programmes
Supporting communication and independence
Delivering sensory and therapeutic activities
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Assisting with personal care where required
