SEND Teaching Assistant - Derby, DE1 Location: Derby, DE1 Contract Type: Full time, Long-time Start Date: April 2026 Pay Rate: £90-120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Experience: Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK school Overview: Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected school in Derby to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time position, September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Teaching Assistant to contribute to a thriving department and support students across the school. Key Responsibilities: * Providing individual and small group support: Assisting pupils with learning activities, providing one-to-one support, and implementing differentiated learning plans. * Creating and maintaining a supportive learning environment: Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils. * Communicating effectively: Maintaining regular communication with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals regarding pupil progress and well-being. * Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs: Implementing strategies to support pupils' social and emotional development and manage challenging behaviour. * Assisting with practical tasks: Supporting pupils with personal care needs, preparing learning materials, and maintaining classroom resources. * Contributing to the wider school community: Participating in school events and activities and contributing to the overall well-being of the school. The Ideal Candidate: * Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. * Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. * Excellent organizational and time-management skills. * Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
