GSL Education are currently recruiting for a flexible, enthusiastic, and dedicated Secondary Supply Teacher to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas. About the Role: As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across your subject specialism or provide general classroom cover, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will quickly adapt to different school environments while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning, and student wellbeing. Core Responsibilities of the Secondary Supply Teacher: • Deliver engaging lessons and supervise learning across KS3 and KS4 • Follow school policies and lesson plans to ensure continuity of learning • Adapt confidently to different classrooms, subjects, and school environments • Maintain positive behaviour and create a productive learning atmosphere • Assess student understanding and provide feedback where appropriate • Work collaboratively with school staff to support positive educational outcomes As the Ideal Secondary Supply Teacher, You Should Have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification • Experience teaching within a secondary school setting • Excellent classroom management and communication skills • A flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to teaching • Ability to engage and motivate students across a range of abilities • A professional commitment to high standards of teaching and safeguarding To Work with GSL Education, You Must: • Have the right to work in the UK • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years • Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one If you are a passionate Secondary Supply Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities across schools in York, we welcome your application.
