Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive Food Technology and Textiles lessons in line with the national curriculum. • Create a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment that encourages creativity, independence, and practical skill development. • Teach students a range of food preparation, nutrition, cooking, textile design, and manufacturing techniques. • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, using assessment data to inform planning and support individual learning needs. • Promote high standards of behaviour, participation, and achievement in line with the school's behaviour policy. • Ensure all practical lessons are delivered safely, following health and safety regulations and departmental procedures. • Prepare and maintain classroom resources, equipment, and materials to support effective teaching and learning. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student progress and wellbeing. • Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare and safety of students at all times. Requirements • Passionate about Food Technology, Textiles, and delivering high-quality practical education. • A confident and effective classroom practitioner with excellent communication and organisational skills. • Experienced in planning and delivering engaging practical lessons that inspire and motivate students. • Knowledgeable about food safety, nutrition, textiles, and relevant health and safety procedures. • Able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community. • Professional, reliable, and adaptable, with a positive and proactive approach to teaching. • Committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their full potential. • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
