Secondary Teaching Assistant Location: Coniston / South Lakes Area, Cumbria Agency: Tradewind Recruitment Start Date: 1st September 2026 Contract Duration: September hrough to July 2027 Pay Rate: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience) About the Role Are you an enthusiastic, adaptable Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive environment? Tradewind Recruitment is proud to partner with a welcoming secondary school situated in the scenic South Lakes area near Coniston to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for the upcoming academic year. In this role, you will work alongside class teachers and the SEN coordinator to support secondary students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be instrumental in creating an engaging learning environment, helping students overcome barriers to learning, and supporting their academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities Providing targeted 1:1 and small group intervention for students requiring extra academic or pastoral support. Supporting classroom management and assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery. Helping students build self-confidence, independence, and strong social skills. Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tracking student progress. Promoting an inclusive, safe, and positive atmosphere where every student can thrive. What We Are Looking For Previous experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or care setting. A friendly, resilient, and patient approach to supporting secondary-aged learners. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
