Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School Location: Rochdale Start Date: September 2026 Full-Time | Term Time Only Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Secondary SEN School in Rochdale from September. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support students aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs. • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible lessons. • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs. • Encourage students' independence, confidence, and social development. • Promote positive behaviour and help create a supportive learning environment. • Assist with personal, emotional, and academic development where required. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, education, care, or support setting. • Is patient, compassionate, and able to build positive relationships. • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Is adaptable, resilient, and keen to learn. • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). • Has a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
