About the role

Experienced Teaching Assistant A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Hounslow is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their dedicated support team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to become part of a welcoming school with a strong commitment to student achievement and wellbeing. Working alongside experienced teachers and the SEN department, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and socially, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. The role is ideally suited to an experienced Teaching Assistant who has previously worked within a secondary school setting and has supported students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). You will provide tailored support within lessons, alongside structured one-to-one and small group interventions. Applicants with a proven track record of supporting SEN students and managing challenging situations confidently may be considered for a higher daily rate. Responsibilities • Provide high-quality classroom support to ensure students remain engaged and make good progress. • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions to meet individual learning needs. • Support students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and MLD. • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement individual support strategies. • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate. • Promote a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment. Requirements • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school is essential. • Strong knowledge and understanding of supporting students with Special Educational Needs. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people. • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. • A proactive attitude and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a wider support team.
