About the role

SEND Teaching Assistant - Radcliffe, Bury Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Radcliffe area of Bury. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with additional learning needs and make a genuine difference to their educational journey. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Every day will bring new opportunities to help pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, support worker or someone looking to build a career within education and SEND. Your responsibilities will include: Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND. Supporting pupils to access learning across the primary curriculum. Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation. Working collaboratively with teachers and external professionals. Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs. Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff. Promoting an inclusive, nurturing and safe learning environment. Following all safeguarding and school policies. The successful applicant will have: Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting. A calm, patient and caring approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
