Trainee Teaching Assistant Location: Stockton-on-Tees Salary: £120–£150 per day (dependent on experience) Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible Are you looking to start a rewarding career in education? The successful Trainee Teaching Assistant will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, gaining valuable classroom experience while helping pupils achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Teaching Assistant: • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom. • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation. • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities. • Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement. • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff. • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. • Assisting with playground duties and classroom activities where required. The Ideal Trainee Teaching Assistant Will: • Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people. • Be eager to learn and develop a career in education. • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Be patient, enthusiastic and adaptable. • Have transferable experience from sectors such as youth work, coaching, care, mentoring or customer service (desirable). • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply). • Have a fully checkable work history.
