About the role
Your next teaching role could be closer than you think.
We’re working with a range of welcoming primary schools across Redbridge looking for enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teachers who can help children finish Key Stage 1 with confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Year 2 is an exciting year of growth, where children become more independent, build on their core skills, and prepare for the next stage of their education. If you enjoy helping pupils realise just how much they're capable of, we'd love to hear from you.
Every Year 2 class is different, every school has its own personality, but they all share the same goal, giving children the knowledge, confidence, and resilience they need to take the next step into Key Stage 2.
If you're someone who can create engaging lessons, build strong relationships, and support every child to achieve their best, this could be your perfect next move.
What you'll be doing:
• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Supporting pupils as they develop confidence across reading, writing, maths, and the wider curriculum
• Preparing children for the end of Key Stage 1 with a balanced, child-centred approach
• Creating a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated
• Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and EAL
• Monitoring progress through ongoing assessment and using this to inform future learning
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and parents to support every child's development
• Managing behaviour with consistency, encouragement, and clear expectations
• Contributing to the wider school community and upholding safeguarding at all times
What we're looking for:
The right fit for this role will be someone who:
• Holds UK QTS
• Has recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally within Key Stage 1
• Has a strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and end of Key Stage 1 expectations
• Creates engaging lessons that challenge and inspire every learner
• Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
• Brings enthusiasm, organisation, and a supportive approach to the classroom
