Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our team as Literacy Interventions Leader. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, building confidence, and helping students achieve their potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing students’ reading skills, learning habits, and independence. Working closely with colleagues across the school, you will deliver targeted literacy interventions, provide personalised support, and contribute to a positive culture of reading and learning. Using reading age information, assessment data, and staff feedback, you will identify students who would benefit from additional support, deliver engaging small-group and individual sessions, and monitor progress. You will also support our Study Centre and library provision, creating a welcoming and purposeful environment where students can read, study, complete homework, and access support before and after school. We welcome applications from candidates who are passionate about supporting young people. Experience in literacy, interventions, education, or mentoring would be an advantage, but we also value transferable skills, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Training and support will be provided for the right person. We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised, adaptable, and committed to making a positive difference to our students. About us Manor High School is an exceptional 11-16 school based in Oadby, Leicestershire, it is the highest achieving secondary school locally that has year after year performed well above average. This exceptional achievement comes from the hard-work and dedication of all staff. With around 950 students, we benefit from a culturally diverse population and a body of students who are well-motivated, with very high aspirations. Our school revolves around our four core values: Excellence, Inspiration, Resilience and Respect. These are reflected by staff and students in all that we do and all that we are and you will find our students are eager to learn and who share our passion for education. Please refer to the OAK Candidate Information pack to learn more about the employee benefits we offer. For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact our HR Manager Nicola Savill, or apply through our links below: We reserve the right to interview early for the right candidate.
