Key Responsibilities • Support children’s development through play-based learning, planned activities, and daily routines. • Assist in age-appropriate care routines including hygiene, nappy changing, toileting, and meal times. • Help set up and tidy learning environments, both indoors and outdoors. • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). • Work collaboratively with room leaders and other staff to meet the individual needs of children. • Support in promoting emotional well-being and building secure relationships with children. • Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times. • Follow safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies to ensure the well-being of every child. • Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, staff, and families. • Participate actively in apprenticeship training and development activities. Requirements • Must hold or be working toward a Level 2 Early Years qualification . • A strong interest in child development and early education. • Positive, flexible, and reliable attitude. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Willingness to work across all age groups from babies to pre-schoolers. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • Ability to work shifts within nursery opening hours. Desirable • Experience in a nursery or childcare setting is beneficial but not essential. • Desire to progress to a full-time permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship.
