A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Northampton is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join its thriving Art & Design Department. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are committed to nurturing creativity and artistic expression in young people. About the School The school has a strong reputation for academic progress, pastoral care, and a commitment to the creative arts. The Art Department is well-resourced, with dedicated studio space and a wide range of materials to support drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art. Students are encouraged to experiment, develop independent thinking, and build confidence through creative exploration. The department regularly showcases student work through exhibitions and whole-school events. The Role The successful candidate will: • Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 available depending on experience). • Inspire creativity while developing students’ technical skills and critical understanding of art. • Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level assessments where applicable. • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies. • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development. • Support extracurricular activities such as art clubs, competitions, and exhibitions. Candidate Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). • Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic media and techniques. • Excellent classroom management skills. • A commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all learners. • Strong organisational and communication skills.
