A friendly and inspiring school in Oxford are looking for an Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, and is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or a caring individual interested in specialist education. The SEN school caters for children on the Autistic Spectrum, and therefore the students need assistance with communication, social cues, fine motor skills, self-regulation, emotional expression and sensory processing. You will also help manage any challenging behaviour that may arise, and encourage positive decision making. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are a graduate interested in building your experience with special educational needs and mental health. You will gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, as well as the therapeutic and restorative methods used to help engage Autistic children. This will give you the experience essential to train as a Psychologist or Therapist in the future. This is also a great opportunity for a passionate individual looking to further their SEN experience. To be a successful Autism Teaching Assistant, you will need to be an excellent communicator, and have a patient and resilient attitude. If you are nurturing, with a passion for helping children, and an interest in SEN, then this is the role for you!
