Cover Supervisor Location: Chichester, West Sussex Salary: £90 - £120 per day (Dependent on Experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2026 Application Closing Date: 21st August 2026 Supply Desk are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you're considering a career in teaching or have previous experience working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work provided while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. Key Responsibilities • Supervise whole classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects. • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged. • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy. • Support pupils with questions relating to the work set. • Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment. • Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour. • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school. Requirements • Experience working with children or young people is desirable. • Confident managing groups of pupils in a classroom setting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Calm, adaptable and resilient approach. • Strong organisational skills and ability to think on your feet. • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development.
